Summary

Product identification

Veolia's Stainless Steel Membrane Housings are designed for 4-inch side entry membrane elements and suitable for RO/NF/UF machine assembly. These housings feature a mechanical coupling closure and a 4-port design to simplify manifolding.

Features and Benefits

  • Mechanical Coupling Closure: Single-piece end cap secured with a mechanical coupling and Victaulic closure system, sealing with a single gasket. This design eliminates the need for grooves or holes, prevents O-ring tearing, and allows quick membrane element changes without special tools.
  • 4-Port Design: Uses four side ports instead of high-pressure interconnecting manifolding, reducing fabrication time and assembly costs. Interstage port plugs direct flow, enabling superior performance in various array schemes, including two-pass systems.
  • Material Advantages (Stainless Steel):
    • No seals involved in side port connections.
    • Does not warp or weep, unlike fiberglass.
    • Unaffected by UV rays or sunlight.
    • A preferred and universally accepted material for water systems.
    • Can withstand high temperatures, up to 200°F (93°C) of supporting process piping.
    • Lighter and easier to handle during assembly than PVC and FRP housings with equivalent pressure ratings.

Options Available

  • Grade: 316L Stainless Steel
  • Side Ports:
    • 3/4", 1-1/4", and 1-1/2"-inch port sizes.
    • Multi-port (2 & 4 port standard).
    • Tri-clamp (standard is Victaulic).
  • Finishes:
    • Original steel mill finish (standard).
    • Painted with acrylic polyurethane paint (most colors, e.g., bright aluminum).
    • Electro-polished for a glossy, shiny, metallic look.
    • Mechanical polished (180 grit), inside diameter and/or outside diameter.
  • Design Options:
    • Low pressure made with Noryl end caps (500 psi).
    • High pressure made with 316 stainless steel end caps (1,000 psi).
    • Sanitary made with polished 316 stainless steel end caps.

  • Add 2-inches (51 mm) to dimension A for the overall length including the end caps.
  • S1 and S2 dimensions are recommended housing support locations from each end. If no S2 dimension is listed, only two end supports are required.
  • The two-port configuration is standard; a four-port configuration is also available.
