Summary
Product identification
The HAYFLOW™ is a patent-pending filter element designed to combine the benefits of both bag and cartridge filters. It offers outstanding filtration performance with an enlarged surface area and improved dirt-holding capabilities.
Mechanical / hydraulic
- Design: Two concentric cylinders of high-quality, extended-life filter media, formed with unique welding technology to create a no by-pass seam.
- Sealing: Fitted with Eaton’s patented SENTINEL® sealing ring to ensure a positive seal and prevent bypass.
- Flow Path: Process fluid enters the inside of the element, passes through it, and exits through the vessel outlet. Filtered-out material remains inside the HAYFLOW element.
- Dimensions:
- Filter Element: Ø 180 mm x 700 mm (for 'L' size)
- Compatibility: The cylinder diameter matches a standard filter bag, allowing for easy retrofitting into existing systems. Existing bag filter vessels require only a new HAYFLOW restrainer basket.
- Residual Liquid: Retains only 25% of the residual liquid volume of a similarly sized filter bag.
- Weight: When full, the element weighs up to 75% less than a filter bag. A full bag can weigh up to 15 kg.
- Construction: Rugged cylindrical construction provides strength over a full range of operating differential pressure. All-welded seams.
- Surface Area: Up to 65% greater than a similar size filter bag.
- Vessel Size Reduction: New bag filtration systems can be designed with filter vessels up to 50% smaller due to high flow rates.
Operating limits
- Materials of Construction:
- Standard Elements: Polypropylene and polyester construction.
- Filter Media: High-quality, extended-life DURAGAF™ needlefelt media with fine fibers and higher pore volumes. Melt-blown polypropylene media available for high micron retention and selective absorption. Any weldable filtration media can be used, including multilayered construction.
- Sealing Rings: Polypropylene or polyester SENTINEL® sealing rings.
- Temperature: Designed to perform over a wide range of temperatures.
- Micron Rating: Available with high micron retention ratings. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values.
Features & Benefits
- Outstanding filtration performance.
- Longer filter element life and less frequent changing (up to 5 times greater life than filter bags).
- Reduced running costs.
- Higher flow rates possible.
- Reduced filter vessel size for new installations.
- No by-pass, thanks to 100% welded construction and SENTINEL® sealing ring.
- Up to 35 times more effective than standard filter cartridges.
- Low pressure differential results in less energy consumption.
- Easier maintenance: filtered material stays inside, lower residual liquid volume, and lighter weight when changing.
- Easy extraction of the element using handles on the SENTINEL ring and center sleeve.
- Quick and easy installation as the element is smooth and fits the basket walls without crimps or pleats.
- Easy retrofitting into existing filter vessels (with appropriate restrainer basket).
