Summary

Product identification

The Flotrex PN (FPN) series comprises pleated filters constructed with polypropylene microfiber media. They are designed as an economical filtration solution, particularly for protecting final filters. The all-polypropylene construction ensures superior chemical compatibility. The media features a gradient density and is thermally bonded, providing excellent dirt holding capacities and reliable retention characteristics without adhesives or additives.

Typical Applications:

  • Filtration of liquid polymers, coatings, and inks
  • Filtration of bulk chemicals
  • Beer trap filtration
  • Post Carbon bed and DI bed filtration
  • Pre-filtration to protect expensive final filters

Nominal Pore Size Micron Ratings:

  • 0.2 µm
  • 0.45 µm
  • 1 µm
  • 2 µm
  • 3 µm
  • 5 µm
  • 10 µm
  • 30 µm

Flow Performance: See the official PDF for exact tabulated values for Flow Performance in Clean Water (Table 4), which are based on a 10” length filter.

Operating limits

  • Maximum Forward Differential Pressure: 60 psi (4.1 bar) at 70ºF (21ºC)
  • Maximum Reverse Differential Pressure: 30 psi (2.1 bar) at 70ºF (21ºC)
  • Maximum Operating Temperature: 180ºF (82ºC) at 10 psid (0.69 bar) in water

Additional Information

  • Flotrex PN filters may be autoclaved or in situ steam sterilized up to 257°F (125°C) for 30-minute cycles, with a maximum accumulated exposure of 10 hours.
  • Filters can also be sanitized with compatible chemical agents.
  • The material contained in Flotrex PN pleated filters meets U.S. FDA requirements for food contact under applicable regulations in 21 CFR.
  • Flotrex PN filters meet the test criteria for USP class VI-121°C Plastics.
  • Aqueous extracts from Flotrex PN filters contain less than 0.25 EU/ml.
  • The filters typically exhibit low levels of non-volatile residues.
  • Users should carefully verify chemical compatibility as conditions will vary with each application.
