Cartridge heights range from 4” to 50”, depending on the model and configuration. Filtration rates range from Ultra-filtration at 0.02 micron to nominal filtration at 100 micron. Standard treatment media include Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), Carbon Block, Polyphosphate, and Ionic Exchange Resins. Custom heights, filter rates, and treatment media are available on request.
Dedicated accessories such as FilterFit (centering device) and Containing Sponge (for holding treatment media in empty cartridges) are available.
Operating Limits
- Max working temperature: 45°C (113°F) for GAC and Carbon Block cartridges.
- Max working temperature: 35°C (95°F) for Polyphosphate and Ionic Exchange Resin cartridges.
- Note for Polyphosphate: Treated water can be heated up to 75°C - 80°C; above this, polyphosphate gradually loses effectiveness.
Feed Water
- Max total hardness (Polyphosphate cartridges): 50°f (500 ppm CaCO₃).
- Max chlorine concentration (Ionic Exchange Resins): 0.1 ppm.
- Max iron concentration (Ionic Exchange Resins): 0.1 ppm.
- A pre-filter is recommended to protect certain cartridges (e.g., LA GAC, CA-SE HF, HA Polyphosphate).
Mechanical / Hydraulic
- Configurations: SX (double open end with flat seals), BX (45 mm double o-ring collar), CX (57 mm double o-ring collar).
- Dimensions: Cartridges are available in various heights from 4” to 20” (specific models go up to 50"). Outer diameters (OD) and inner diameters (ID) vary, for example, common sizes include OD 2.40” x ID 1.10” and OD 1.77” x ID 0.71” (for MIGNON series).
- Flow Rate vs Pressure Drop: Graphs illustrating flow rate (l/h) against pressure drop (Δp in bar) are available for representative 10” elements of different cartridge types. See the official PDF for detailed charts.
- Nominal Flow Rates: Vary significantly by model and height. For example, a 10” LA SX GAC cartridge has a nominal flow rate of 500 l/h, while a 10” HA SX Polyphosphate cartridge has a nominal flow rate of 1500 l/h. A 10” CA-SE 0.3 micron carbon block cartridge has a nominal flow rate of 300 l/h. See the official PDF for exact tabulated values for each model.

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) Cartridges (LA, CA, FA-CA, BT CPP LA series)
These cartridges utilize granular activated carbon from coconut shell.
- Treatment: Primarily for the reduction of chlorine, taste, odour (CTO); and volatile organic compounds (VOC). Some models also provide sediment filtration.
- Filtration: Varies by model (e.g., CA filters at 25 micron, FA-CA from 5 to 100 micron, BT CPP LA from 5 to 50 micron). LA series does not specify a micron rating for sediment filtration.
- Average life-span: 3 months.
- Maintenance: None.
- Materials:
- LA series: Container, end cap, grid: polystyrene. Flat seal SX: SEBS. O-rings BX: EPDM. Treatment material: granular activated carbon from coconut shell.
- CA, FA-CA, BT CPP LA series: Filter medium (if applicable) and end caps/grids: polypropylene. Flat seals SX: SEBS. O-rings BX: EPDM. Treatment material: granular activated carbon from coconut shell.
- Variants: LA-Ag, CA-Ag, FA-CA-Ag, BT CPP LA AG models with silver-impregnated GAC for bacteriostatic effect.
Activated Carbon Block Cartridges (CA SE, CA-SE HF, CB-EC series)
These cartridges feature activated carbon blocks from coconut shell.
- Treatment: Fine sediment filtration and reduction of chlorine, taste, odour (CTO); volatile organic compounds (VOC). Lead (Pb) reduction and microbial removal are available in specific variants.
- Filtration:
- CA SE series: 0.3 micron (silver impregnated for bacteriostatic effect) or 1 micron (Pb models for heavy metal reduction).
- CA-SE HF series: 0.15 micron (Micro-filtration, removes bacteria like E. coli, Salmonella, V. cholerae, Legionella, Pseudomonas, and protozoan cysts like Giardia, Cryptosporidium) or 0.02 micron (Ultra-filtration, removes bacteria and viruses).
- CB-EC series: 1 micron (for cysts, Pb for heavy metals), 5 micron (for VOCs), 10 micron (for CTO).
- Average life-span: 3-6 months.
- Maintenance: None.
- Materials:
- CA SE series: Filter and treatment medium: sintered block of activated carbon powder. End caps: polypropylene. Flat seals SX: SEBS. O-rings BX: EPDM.
- CA-SE HF series: Filter and treatment medium: sintered block of activated carbon powder. Micro and Ultra-filtration membranes: polyethersulfone (PES), HF tube high impact polystyrene (HIPS). End caps: polypropylene. Flat seals SX: SEBS. O-rings BX: EPDM.
